OZARK, MO — The Ozark School District has a “new” superintendent. Erm, she’s actually been right there for quite a while. Click here to read the other media stuff they all want you to read.
Check this song out for further reference. “The Who” sang “here comes the new boss…just like the old boss.”
The school board reviewed 23 candidates and all they could come up with was one of their own.
Some say, “Well, Johnny, that’s a good thing. Isn’t it good to bring up someone who knows the system? And, she said good things at the SB 190 tax meeting.” (In other words, Wilson didn’t whine about not getting higher property taxes from seniors like Nixa Schools did.)

So, What’s Wrong with the “New” Girl?
HERE IS A PEAK AT HER PAST WITH THE OZARK DISTRICT:
Lori Wilson’s initial hiring was under the pretense of her filling the CFO position for just one year, as the previous CFO was taking a year-long leave of absence. I’m told the previous CFO insisted she wasn’t coming back, but that the school kept framing it as a one-year leave of absence anyway.
Guess what, folks? Within a year, she went from a temporary hire to assistant superintendent! BAM!
The next year, she became the interim superintendent. BOOM!
Ta da, looky! Now Dr. Lori is the permanent superintendent! Now, I’m sure some of them there board members think they honest to goodness just selected Dr. Lori from among a pool of many qualified applicants, doncha know?
But hey now… when Dr. Lori first came here she wasn’t ditching her previous superintendent job to become a temporary CFO. Think about it!
She came here knowing she had a strong likelihood of becoming our superintendent. She had a humungo advantage over the other applicants because of her relationship with the board.
But, ya know, there is little public argument that will make any difference in the Ozark School District. Only after we replace our school board do we have much better shot of progress!
I wasn’t the least bit surprised to see her hired again.
I don’t believe for a minute the best candidate of 23 candidates just happened to be our interim superintendent. The process was heavily biased from start to finish. Since the superintendent search process is run by the MSBA, those running it no doubt biased the whole selection process towards hiring her.
Dirty, dirty, dirty!
I thought only third world dictatorships ran this way. But I guess “good ol’ boy” communities do just as much!

MSBA needs to be brought to a end. your board did what Sedalia District 200 has done for years. they already have the next five superintendents pick.
Other options must be persued to stand against MSBA.
