Jaysen is a 300 pound, 7-foot giant who could likely wrap his arms around a full-sized refrigerator. His lovely wife, Cortney, is a nurse. Last year, they moved from California with their three children, Hannah, Addison and Dylan, now 12, 10, and 8 to flee “West Coast Wokery” in search of decent schools.
They landed in Nixa, Missouri, USA, a foreign land with better schools and more base people (‘base’ is the opposite of ‘woke’).
Jaysen is a business guy. Cortney is medical. Their work didn’t work out in the Ozarks, and they found themselves looking for ideas. Cortney was dissolutioned with traditional medicine. “During Covid, nurses went from heroes to being treated like crap. Then, the medical industry started treating patients like crap.”
New company treats people right!
Cortney came up with a way to truly help people without pills and drugs. HAD Hydration was born. The LLC she and her giant hubby founded offers natural cocktails of vitamins and nutrients to hydrate the body and restore vitality.
Well, when I heard their pitch at the Nixpo in March, I shrugged it off as another MLM that meant nothing to me. But, when I met with Mr. Giant and Mrs. Nurse, wow. These people are smart. And they care! And come to find out, it isn’t MLM. It’s a business Cortney started.
My wife and I booked a visit with them at a local coffee shop in Nixa (Baked Bean, formerly Walkabout). I thought Baked Bean sounded like a can of pinto beans heated up on a stove in granny’s dirty kitchen. But, aside from a weird name, it’s a hip, clean joint where the cool kids hang.
And, Mr. Giant and Mrs. Nurse are definitely cool. The Giant opens up about local politics on a side conversation. He’s warning me about the voting style here in Missouri, which we will naively plummet into the problems California currently has if we don’t self-correct. This guy is a prophet for the Midwest. I’m all ears. It’s riveting. And frightening.
“People from California, not the woke ones, but the sensible ones, are smarter than most people here in the Midwest,” I announce to the California couple. “A guy from San Diego told me that. He said back in the Gold Rush days, the bravest, and most innovative people survived the long journey west, while the weaker, more fragile minded settled in the Midwest along the way.”
Ouch. But, makes sense.
What’s this have to do with my yellow pee?
Not sure, other than this couple is smart. Mr. Giant (aka Jaysen) and Mrs. Nurse (aka Cortney) interview their clients to determine the best vitamin and supplement cocktail to infuse them with. Yes, it’s a needle, but no, it’s not a big one.
“It’s easier than giving blood,” Mr. Giant says. “I hate needles, but I can barely feel these. She’s amazing,” he says, with an appreciative glance in his wife’s direction. I’m listening with both ears as they speak. I have a regular iced tea, unsweetened, and I grab video clips and photos as they speak.

Our discussion goes on longer than expected. I find myself riveted to their words of wisdom. They have ways to help enhance athlete performance without drugs or chemicals. Talk about a winning team!
And so much more. “You guys should do a seminar,” I say. Throughout the conversation, I interrupt to tell them how I’m feeling. “You sold me. Don’t oversell; it’s powerful and I find myself nervous about the cost, but I can think of numerous examples of people this would help.”
