NIXA, MO — She’s a smart blonde. Rebecca Anderson, a tattooed, tongue-stud wearing, sassy talkin’ chick from Southern California, is the real deal. The whole package. She’s one of the savviest home loan brokers in Nixa!
It’s a cold, rainy Friday morning. Mrs. Rooster and I are waiting with “Becky” for a table at the crowded Morning Day Cafe in downtown Nixa. “I’m scared of storms,” she says, telling of her night of terror during overnight Ozarks’ thunderstorms. She’s alive and wired, no caffeine necessary.
There are no other seats. “Can we sit at the bar?” Becky asks the hostess.
“You’ll still have to wait to get served,” comes the reply.
“We aren’t needing menus. Just some hot tea.”
We are at the bar, me in the middle, the thorn between the roses.
Becky orders a colorful, healthy sounding hot DECAF tea. “I’ll have the same,” I say.
