Hating the Chiefs. Or just hatred in general. It’s becoming a favorite American pastime.
It’s outdated and old-fashioned to love things. Love of cars, country, God, family, girls, ambition, wealth, power, all seen as passe. Love of achievement, goals, self-improvement, helping others, serving God and country, why waste time on such archaic garbage?
Hate, baby, hate! That’s where it’s at nowadays.
Hip, cool, chic, woke, relevant, in vogue, whatever the most “rizz” term only Gen Z’ers know, that’s what’s important now.

Life isn’t about loving thy neighbor. It’s about despising success.

The more our culture leans towards nay saying a 29-year-old, God-fearing quarterback with a growing family, the more impressive we become to our aging peers who’ve never been on a professional team. The more we feel good about our shallow, effortless lives.
Mediocrity. It smells so familiar, like grandma’s carpet. It looks so comfy, like paneled walls and the clutter I’ll get to someday…

Yeah, America, it’s your time to hate. Get a knot in your stomach and despise anyone who finds success. Blame it on the refs. Say the NFL is scripted. It’s so sexy. It’s so authentic. Jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissentions, factions and envy… that stuff rocks. The Bible is outdated (Galatians 5:20). No need for that tired old script, either.
Just do you. That’s cultural wisdom these days. Be mediocre, drink your mediocre beer, complain about a successful young athlete with many good years ahead, trash him, because hey, he isn’t YOUR son. He isn’t YOUR neighbor. He isn’t YOUR quarterback.

Remember, your kids are watching you. You, who know all, and have the authority on who wins and who deserves to win. Never mind hard work, ability to think on one’s feet, to outmaneuver one’s opponent. Just admire a team for its geographics to your location, or its common hatred of a more successful team.
Oh, I understood the heat brought against Tom Brady and the Patriots. Because that had gone one for decades. But this thing, this new Chiefs emergence as a legacy team, just outranked all of that. It’s relatively new. Only a few hot seasons of overcoming the odds. David is beating Goliath, and the Philistines are sulking like it’s David’s fault for being faithful and bold.

Go ahead. Hate on the Chiefs. Hate on everything you despise. Success isn’t for the weak.
That’s why hating the Chiefs is so important now. If you all band together for the common destruction and discrediting of a young man who loves God and his family, who was mentored well by a former quarterback and top-level coaches, you can go back to blaming the refs in all areas of your own life. You can be happy being unhappy. You can always find a reason why you didn’t win. You can feel better for having mocked an effort so strong you couldn’t fathom it. Hate, baby, hate. Recoil from success. Keep your distance and enjoy your miserable mediocrity.
Well done, America. Well done. Leave a legacy of hate that future generations can learn from and admire.
