The hero on the Ozark School Board

OZARK, MO — The new guy is the hero.

That’s right, Mark Jenkins, president of the Bank of Billings (MO) was sworn in April 14 to the Ozark R-VI Board of Education. The new guy.

Jenkins was soon pulled aside by school administrators about a situation relating to the forced resignation of Major Danny Cazier.

On Thursday, October 27, Cazier presented a program he used as a JROTC instructor at Ozark High School to a group of interested area residents, including a county official, a city alderman, a state senator, and… school board member Mark Jenkins.

Jenkins wasn’t on the board when Cazier was originally being squeezed out by hostile administrators but was made aware of the version of the case that school administrators wanted him to know.

After seeing the 90-minute presentation that got Cazier into hot water with the brass, Jenkins addressed the audience.

“When I was elected to the school board, I was invited to Gerald Chambers office,” Jenkins said, standing before the group of nearly 30 adults. “He and a couple of other administrators explained what was going on with Major Cazier.”

“The material they presented was much more graphic (than what Cazier presented).”

Jenkins mentioned a few other allegations, all of which Cazier promised to address specifically in his next presentation in November.

Jenkins and others signed a piece of paper that stated they did not see anything inappropriate about Cazier’s presentation for students on the topic of the importance of personal values, decisions and perceptions.

Here is a copy of what many group members signed:

  1. Wow. Unbelievable. Is there any possibility that the teacher might’ve changed his presentation to make it seem better for their public?

Also, I can’t see the copy of what they signed?
