OZARK, MO — Shhh. Hush, now! He’s supposed to be invisible.
The guy running for Ozark R-6 School Board against the two women the establishment wants.
It’s tough being the “odd man out” in a social clique sanctioned by the Missouri School Board Association and National Education Association. When big tax union cronies don’t like you, they don’t like you.
Most Ozark voters don’t even vote in municipal and school elections. They’ll forget there’s an election April 8. They don’t know you can vote now through April 8 at the courthouse.
Meanwhile, staff and faculty at the Ozark School District aren’t given options to skip out. They are told how to vote, and for whom, by the administration. Marching orders.
Good teachers are good followers. They do what they’re told to keep their jobs.
District kingpins won’t mention the guy running for Ozark school board. They only make noise about the two ladies who support each other and the other establishment candidates on the ballot. Hold hands and sing, “Kum by Ya.”

He’s the only school board candidate advocating for families, the kids and their parents. Other voices backing the establishment shout that schools need to cater to the kids and leave out parents. Sounds like the Loudoun County Virginia crowd from recent times. That school board called a dad a terrorist for defending his daughter who was sexually assaulted by a boy in a skirt in a girls’ bathroom at school. The Ozark establishment doesn’t want voters to show up for the one candidate willing to stand up to the establishment. He’s not doing it for recognition. He’s not trying to leverage politically. He’s a quiet professional business owner hoping to be an objective voice for parents and their children. The same parents who get “poo pooed” by the current establishment for daring to object to school authorities. Currently, a dad is considering legal action after Ozark High School administrators allowed his daughter to be interrogated by School Resource Officers without his knowledge. Many more cases exist, but staff, students and parents are afraid of the establishment.
They need a voice.
Currently, establishment voices on the school board are unanimous, save for one. That one sole voice is Christina Tonsing. There are 3 candidates. Two open seats. We know who the establishment wants left out. (The one guy patrons cannot afford to leave out.)
By the way, you can vote for one candidate and leave the other blank. Of the three candidates, the two with the most votes will win. Vote Wade Wheeler. Give more perspectives to the entire district, not just the establishment. Leave the other ballot candidate blank. The establishment will fill that one in for you.
