OZARK, MO — Do you know a kid?

Think about the kids you know. Think about the world they’re growing up in.

My 13-year-old son is in 7th grade. He said to me recently, “I already know the kids who are going to use drugs. They’ve already told me they’re planning to do it.”

He goes to a “good” school, smaller than most schools, where the administrators are Christian and openly in favor of traditional values. They even have a four-day school week.

Even in the best systems, public schools are a breeding ground for illicit and indecent behavior and lifestyle choices. Indeed, humanity is corrupt.

Unfortunately, law enforcement will never run out of work and jails will never be empty. Kids won’t stop being abused and trafficked.

You might have a utopian hope that all chaos will cease and things will get back to “normal.”

Even before “normal” went away, things were pretty chaotic. Young people navigate a quagmire of unhealthy choices daily. Few come out without permanent damage.

This is the first generation that statistics show WILL NOT live the lifetyle of their parents.

Each previous generation wanted the next to succeed and do better than they. Under current conditions, that hope is gone.

The ugly truth about Ozark Public Schools

I don’t like to say this. I don’t like to write this. And, in some regards, it’s “none of my business.”

I don’t have kids in Ozark Public Schools.

Taking a deep breath. Here goes:

Come in and sit down for a minute, parents of Ozark students. Close the door.

There’s a situation that’s been growing in the darkness for years. You may have heard the rumblings.

Your kids are starting to be negatively affected by a system that is increasingly corrupt. Good teachers are being forced out, replaced by minions of a corrupt administration.

How do I know this?

Citizens have attended recent school board meetings, voiced specific concerns clearly and repeatedly. And they’ve been shut down.

Silenced.

Canceled.

More than a few

If it were one or two whine bags, I’d let it ride. Like I said, I don’t have kids in Ozark Schools.

But it’s way deeper than that.

Concerned citizens, after being canceled, lied to, and silenced at board meetings, founded a group. But it wasn’t enough. One of them is running for school board in April. With 3 open seats, and none of the current incumbents running, now is our opportunity to to save our schools and protect our future!

Did you know?

*50 OZARK TEACHERS ARE AFRAID OF LOSING THEIR JOB IF THEY SPEAK UP ABOUT ABUSES OF POWER AND BULLYING AGAINST THEM BY ADMINISTRATION?

*A FORMER TEACHER OF THE YEAR CANDIDATE WITH DECADES OF EXPERIENCE GOT BOUGHT OUT AND PUT ON PAID LEAVE UNTIL RETIREMENT SO HE WOULD STOP BRINGING UP FACTS ABOUT DANGEROUS HEALTH CONDITIONS IN A SCHOOL BUILDING?

*85% OF YOUR PROPERTY TAX DOLLARS ARE COLLECTED BY A SCHOOL DISTRICT THAT USES MILLIONS OF YOUR DOLLARS ON PROGRAMS AND BUILDINGS THAT AREN’T FIT FOR USE?

What you can do

But all is not lost.

There is something you can do.

A woman who was canceled by Ozark School Board President Sarah Adams Orr and Vice President Patty Quessenberry is speaking out about the situation and how you can make a difference.

10 a.m., Saturday, March 4 at Ozark Library

Come to the free public meeting. Listen to what she has to say. That’s where you can make a difference in your children’s lives. That’s where you can protect our future.

Your kids will be the beneficiaries of what you do today.
