OZARK, MO — Times, they are a-changin’!
Another hot topic hit social media in Ozark recently. A parent posted a comment that sexual orientation should not be a topic specific to schools.
The parent got a barrage of resistance because others recognized the students’ first amendment rights in having a sexuality based club.
Both sides are completely within their rights to bring the topic up.
It’s not wrong to say you disagree with a Constitutional right. Indeed, I doubt the guys in powdered wigs in 17 something would be cool with any sexually based student groups. I believe the Constitution provides freedom of speech where it does not interfere with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
But some people’s happy is a light year away from others.
If we had a club for every sexual practice out there, that would certainly include pedophilia, beastiality, polygamy, group sex, and “straight” sex before marriage.
Why not just leave sexuality in biology class?
