Amendment 3: What you need to know now

Tuesday, November 5, 2024 is election day. Here’s the scoop on Amendment 3 before you vote, (especially for Christian County Missouri voters, but all Missouri voters need to know this!)

  1. You don’t have to vote for any other candidates or issues if you want to vote for or against Amendment 3. (Or any other item; you can pick and choose to leave anything blank on the ballot.)
  2. Vote early. Many polling places get chaotic, especially with a presidential race. It’s like ordering food during a rush; for best results, and a smoother experience, vote any Monday through Friday before November 5 (election day).
  3. Bring your state issued photo ID. It’s required in order to vote. Be sure you live in Christian County and are registered to vote in Christian County before voting.
  4. Understand the issue before you vote.

Things to know before you vote on Amendment 3

  1. Women’s health is important.
  2. Women need to be kept safe.
  3. Children need parents to help them, rather than making scary decisions alone.
  4. Personal health choices for underage girls should include professional qualified health care providers, parents, and of course, the girl who is pregnant.

What you won’t learn from the media or internet sources about Amendment 3

They all say the same thing: women and girls shouldn’t have anyone tell them what they can do with their own bodies. They should get an abortion anytime.

But here’s the catch with Amendment 3. It has language allowing non health care professionals to also perform abortions. If something goes wrong, and there’s harm to the patient; the patient or her family can’t do anything about it. Amendment 3 protects only abortion providers, not the mother or her family if she is harmed or dies. Under Amendment 3, even a pelvic exam by an EMT at an accident scene is considered “reproductive health care” and the EMT is immune to lawsuits if anything else, even unrelated, goes wrong during the time the patient is in the care of the ambulance crew. NOT GOOD FOR MISSOURI WOMEN!

More interesting facts. Everyone, regardless of their beliefs about abortion, would be forced to pay for it with tax dollars. If someone wants an abortion, they should use private insurance with private money.

“Nosey” example

Example: I want plastic surgery because my nose looks like it could have its own zip code. Fine, I want a cute button nose. Well, I don’t need to force you to pay for my nose job! Get the idea?

It’s a mistake

I appreciate any of you letting me know your thoughts on Amendment 3. If you are PRO LIFE or PRO CHOICE, please vote NO on Amendment 3 so we can ensure the safety and protection of mothers and children. It’s a mistake.

Which, of course, being an 80s pop music fan, reminds me of a song “It’s a Mistake” by Men at Work. Enjoy the song with this link: https://youtu.be/I0AxrOUJ62E

Don’t let your personal beliefs interfere with protecting mothers of any age. There are better ways to approach women’s health care!

My 2 cents worth

My hand with my two cents/CCT Johnny Rooster Photo

There’s an old saying, “here’s my two cents worth”…it’s meant to mean that it may not have a lot of value to you or anyone else, but it’s free advice/opinion/input.

I believe abortion is like slavery. It devalues human life based on human birth status, just like slavery devalued human life based on color. All life deserves respect.

Amendment 3 hurts trans kids

Amendment 3 would protect anyone performing hormone treatment or sex change procedures on minors to get away with harming the minor. I know a girl who regrets trying to transition into a boy. None of us wants that. We need to protect children from hormone therapy and other damaging surgeries. They need the opportunity to sue for injury when they feel there is injury. It’s their body. It should be their choice to protect it. Especially if they are underage. Amendment 3 would allow anyone to harm a minor with sex change related services and get away with it.

If you care about young people under 18, vote no on Amendment 3.
