Truth: Eastern Commissioner candidate now kicked off board!

SPARTA, MO — BREAKING NEWS: Jess Hodges, a candidate for Eastern Christian County Commissioner, was kicked off the Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors, sources say.

The reason?

He didn’t attend enough required meetings.

Apparently, Hodges is too busy being an insurance agent to participate in the position he was appointed to.

Former Mayor Jenni Davis was appointed to fill his position after the board decided to remove Hodges.

“He’s still a member of the chamber; he apparently wasn’t available for board meetings,” a source told the CCT.

Which raised concerns about Hodges in light of his current candidacy for Eastern County Commissioner.

“How can he be counted on to be in at county meetings if he couldn’t be counted on for a board position?” a county resident was overheard asking.

Another commented about his cowboy hat rural ranch hand look on his political signs. “He doesn’t normally dress like a cowboy,” the resident mused. “Is he trying to convince voters he’s a country boy, or is he an insurance agent?”

Hodges is running against incumbent Eastern Commissioner Bradley Alan Jackson. A third Republican candidate, Rick Parham, dropped out of the race (click here for that) and threw his support behind Hodges.

The primary election is Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
